| So, haven't updated in a long time.
Um, yeah...
Classes started up again. Differential Equations has been stupid
this far. Though I suppose it's supposed to get harder at some
point. Physics looks like it's gonna be pretty hard. I
still haven't opened the Chem book that I bought last semester and am
still using this semester. Writing class looks like fun.
Popular Culture and History. Watching John Wayne's The Alamo at
the moment, gonna have a bunch more movies as we go. The Comp Sci
class is gonna be CAKE. If not cake, then at least a cookie.
Speaking of cookies, Appel makes AWESOME cookies. At dinner
yesterday, I got a chocolate chip cookie they just pulled out of the
oven. It was so good. And they had rice crispy treats that
had toffee and stuff in them. Our dining hall is so great.
And, picked up a snowboarding class to round out 20 credits! Not
so yay! Well, at least for the 20 credits part.
Snowboarding is pretty fun, tho I might say that I'd rather ski and not
fall on my face so much. But I must say that the hill they've got
here isn't really worth skiing on. Greek Peak
really isn't worth the title "peak." More like Greek Hill.
Oh well, we'll probably end up skiing instead of snowboarding once just
for the heck of it. Brought the boots over, but not the skiis,
they'd just get torn up for no good reason.
And...um....the Superbowl was bleh. Seahawks got the shaft.
That wasn't holding, or much of an offensive pass interference.
That Steelers' touchdown was even bleh. Bleh.
So, ya, I suppose that's about it as far as what's going on is
concerned. I'm still sitting here enjoying such a great whatever
it is that's here. It's all been good fun.
And now...a quick show of hands (maybe with a comment attached) as to who reads my xanga please? I'm kinda curious.
And for all those of you who do read it, here's a pretty picture of the
observatory on campus. It's little, but we've got a bigger one
somewhere else up on a bigger hill.

Ya, did I mention, all the snow melted. Real great for snowboarding. Just real great.

| "WRITE ABOUT YOUR FRIENDS," she writes...bah, humbug. Ok...
Justine - The little rugby player from Norcal (or Australia, depending
on the situation). Pokes me entirely too much for her own good.
Angela - The big rugby player that pushed me into oncoming traffic
(completely on accident, I'm sure). Says that I hit girls (it may
just be true...).
Fred - The Long Islander guy. Has a game cube and plays with it
entirely too well. But, he's one of the few East Coasters that've
tried Martinelli's sparkling cider.
Shu - Townie! Takes comp sci courses that are entirely too
big-numbered. And plays WoW too much. And all sorts of
Asian stuff.
Andrew - The redneck from Buffalo. Climbs trees for PE credit and
hunts animals for dinner, even if it means skipping school, which he
drives a tractor to.
Noah - The other Long Islander guy that came with Fred. Eats entirely too many doughnuts and plays WoW like it's a cult.
James - That big guy over in Mews. I don't know what to say about
him. He just is. He also is too Asian for his non-asian-ness
Keith - Fuzzy red haired guy from Indiana. A Human Development
major among engineers. (Yes Justine, you're an engineer too, just
in denial.)
Nate - The kid from Boston and Socal and other random places.
Plays games like none other, rides a Great White Kodo, drives a Scion
TC. Yay for the good Scion (and thanks for the ride!).
Aka - I don't know how to spell his name. That's all I know.
All the people on my hall - good bunch of guys for the most part.
Got to admit that I don't know hardly any of the girls at all, even if
I live right next to their half of the hall and walk by them to the
kitchen every morning.
Anybody I missed - I'm sure you're a decent fellow, and I'd put
something mildly humorous here to commemorate you, but I really can't
be bothered to think that hard at the moment.
So, there it is. Friends at Cornell. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good afternoon.

| All done and going home!
So, last update was long long ago. Since then, it's snowed a lot,
been cold a lot, and I've gone to a lot of classes. But now
that's all done because I'm back in California on Saturday! As
for all that stuff that happened, well, I'll try to throw in a detail
or two.
It's been cold and snowy! Well, actually it hasn't been all that
snowy. It's been plenty of cold though. For a while it was
raining, then it stopped and got really cold. Then it warmed up
and rained again, then it stopped and froze again. That was
pretty much all of November. We didn't actually get snow to stick
until December was coming along. Well, first time was Nov. 11,
according to the dorm's betting pool. But real snow wasn't around
forever and ever, till somewhat lately. But then it's been all
white ever since. And blindingly bright too. And me without
any sunglasses. Need to stop by the Sunglass hut or something at
some point... Other than that, ya, cold. It got down below
zero a day or two ago. Hasn't been overly bad really yet.
Though I really dont quite know exactly what I should wear in terms of
warmer pants. Long underwear's all good and well, but it's warm
inside and you can't exactly take it off very easily :-/
And then there's that whole classes thing. Finished up my 6
essays and a revision for the semester (YAY!), but I never quite
managed to go and pick up my last one and my final grade. Maybe
I'll stop by tomorrow and get lucky if the prof's in.
Engineering gave me a second essay (wtf, engineer essay?). It was
a technical paper. I did it on knee replacements. It was
kinda funny, cause I know entirely too much about the subject
now. So I just sat down and wrote a whole bunch, and by the time
I took a break, I had 4 pages done. The only problem was that I
was supposed to have cited research and stuff. So I researched a
few pictures, threw them in, cited something, and had 8 pages worth of
paper to turn in (which was what he considered the max, 6-8). I
think that's the first time I've actually hit the page limit on a
paper. But then his comments...he said that only having 4 sources
is kinda thin. But, I had excellent depth of information.
So, the final conclusion of my intro engineering class: I know
WAY too much about knees. Final exam wasn't overly
horrible. Four questions, two hours, 9 am in the morning was the
worst part of it. That and walking my better part of a mile to
the eng quad in the 12 degree weather. Bleh.
Then there's math. It got thoroughly confusing in the last third
of the class. Something about chapter 16, integration in vector
fields, bleh. I think that's the first time that I've actually
finished a math book in class. Final was lots of fun. Shu,
friend in the class, got 45/150...and that was a C. I laugh at
his failure at Asian-ness
Then there was Chem. It's been a fun year. Don't have any
idea how I ended up doing grade-wise though. Did alright on the
first prelim (preliminary exam), really well on the second, and I think
I did well on the final. But then again, the final wasn't that
bad, so the mean's gonna be high. And I did rather crappily on
the homeworks and the labs. Though, all the TA's get curved
against each other at the end, so I may get curved up. We'll just
have to see on that one. Grades come out online on the 27th, so
I'm not thinking about them till the night of the 26th. And maybe
not even then.
Well, ya, that's what's up in school. Back to California on the
17th. Uncle comes in on the same day, cousin comes in a day
after. Oregon on the 23rd, back on the 26th. TAHOE!!!! on
the 2nd through the 7th. OMG SKIING. AHAHA. New skiis
too. I can't wait. Ya, I know, I come home from the snow
just to go play in more snow. So what. California snow is
better. Speaking of weather, I can't wait to get back to
warmness. It's literally 50 degrees warmer in California.
Shorts and a T-shirt again! Ahhh, that'll be so nice. Well,
until then, I'll sit around and try not to freeze. Wheee "back to
california...." I've spent a total of 3-ish days in Cali in the
past 5 and a half months. Like, wtf. Hella wtf. Bah,
cya later.

| So, here's a little something that's post-worthy, I'd say. Over
the last weekend I went out to the Adirondacks with a few people to go
rock climbing. And, Saturday night, it snowed! So, that's
my first New York snow - October 23rd. Sunday morning, there was
about an inch or two of snow everywhere, and it stuck through the rain
all day long until we left about noon. Hiking in the snow while
wearing running shoes wasn't the best thing ever, but it was still lots
of fun. Cold fun, at that. So, that's all for now.
Here's a picture.

Three climbs on this wall, the corner, the off-width crack, and the face off to the left.

Our camp Sunday morning

The cars at camp. Kudos if you can id them both
So, that's what's up. It's freezing cold over here, but it hasn't
snowed on campus yet. Though there's a bit of snow predicted for
tomorrow evening and Wednesday morning. Stuff's about to get fun
